I am a solicitor and widower after losing my wife Denise to breast cancer in 2018. I had never been heavier than 88kg all my life but it crept up to 93kg while Denise was ill and then after her death it managed to sneak up to 98kg.
I was travelling in Europe last year and every time I had to put my sandals on I thought “Who put this basketball around my waist?” I decided to fix that when I returned home. Denise made me promise I would still enjoy my life to the full after she was gone, so I decided to get fit.
I chose the My Lifestyle Guide for freshness, convenience and portion control. I figured I needed to learn portion size more than anything else.
I absolutely love everything about the My Lifestyle Guide!
I started in early July 2019 and I reached my original goal of 75 kilos weight in late February 2020. I am 71 kilos now, so that’s a total of 27 kg.
I walk the dog for 1 hour in the morning and again for 45 minutes in the evening. That’s probably a total of 5 kms. I swim in the ocean 3 – 4 days a week. I do pilates twice a week. Up until thee gyms closed I was doing weight training at the gym twice a week to build muscle.
I have lost 6 inches from my waist and dropped from 38 to 32. T-shirts are now medium instead of large. I’ve thrown out heaps of clothes because they no longer fit me and have had to buy a new wardrobe.
I feel fitter now than I was at 18.
I used to get out of bed of a morning at 55 with aches and pains which I no longer have, and I’ve halved my blood pressure medication.
I plan to keep doing what I have done with the My Lifestyle Guide to maintain this new lifestyle– except eat a little more to stop the weight loss. I live in a beautiful part of the world and have a great work/life balance, now my health is optimized so I can enjoy it all to the fullest.
